A cloud of sorrow hangs over the Kokofu Government Hospital and the entire Edwenase community following the heartbreaking death of a 37-year-old nurse, Akosua Adutwuwaa, who is reported to have taken her own life on Sunday morning.
According to her distraught mother, Akosua began the day as usual—waking up early, completing household chores, and even purchasing porridge for her 2-year-old daughter. But what appeared to be a normal Sunday morning turned tragic when family members couldn’t locate her between 7:00 and 8:00 am as they prepared for church.
To their horror, Akosua was found hanging from a ceiling fan in her room, with a white rope tied around her neck.

Her body was later conveyed to Pramso Hospital for autopsy, under the supervision of the Ashanti South Regional Police Command.
The devastating news has left both the hospital staff and local residents in shock, as this marks the first suicide case reported in the area. Colleagues describe Akosua as dedicated and compassionate, making the loss even more difficult to comprehend.
Police investigations are ongoing as the community mourns a life lost too soon.
