Police Arrest Woman for Baby Stealing and Theft in Wa

The Upper West Regional Police Command has arrested a 38-year-old woman, Abena Martha Maanibeh, for allegedly stealing a one-week-old baby and other personal belongings of the child’s mother at the Wa market, popularly known as Kejetia. According to police reports, the complainant, Ms. Kwofie Mwinbelle, delivered a baby boy at the Wa Regional Hospital on August 1, 2025, where the suspect was posing as a caretaker for another patient. On August 10, 2025, Maanibeh deceitfully convinced the new mother to accompany her to the Wa market to buy baby diapers. Woman remanded over stealing Ghc800,000 mistakenly transferred to her account

A trader, Constance Gyasi Nimako, has been remanded into lawful custody by an Accra Circuit Court for allegedly stealing and laundering money mistakenly credited to her bank account. Nimako, also known as Maa Adwoa, is alleged to have spent GH¢770,500 out of GH¢800,000 that was erroneously transferred to her Ecobank account. She reportedly transferred GH¢300,000 to her mother’s account at Fidelity Bank and GH¢400,000 to her own account at GCB Bank, and withdrew GH¢70,500 in cash. She has been charged with stealing and money laundering, while her mother, Cecilia Gyasi, has been charged with abetment of crime to wit money laundering. The two pleaded not guilty. FDA and collaborators at the Aflao border nab woman with fake aphrodisiacs

The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) officials and other collaborators at the Aflao border have arrested Hawa Fuseini, a passenger on a Nagode Transport vehicle with registration number TG 5846 BN with contraband aphrodisiacs on Friday. The Nagode Bus, being driven by Babayara Rashid, was carrying the above non-compliant products loaded from Lome-Togo enroute to Accra and was uncovered at the Vehicle examination section of the Aflao Border, during a joint examination on the bus, at about 1730 hrs.
