President Mahama, Ruto hold talks on sidelines of UN General Assembly

President John Dramani Mahama on Tuesday held talks with Kenyan President William Sameoi Ruto on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, United States. The two leaders agreed that Africa must take bold steps to strengthen its financial systems as a foundation for sustainable growth. They also called for African countries to place at least 30 per cent of their foreign exchange reserves in African financial institutions. This, according to the two leaders, was the surest path to building resilience, unlocking Africa’s potential, and securing shared prosperity for generations to come. Source: GNA

CAF President Dr Motsepe meets Kenya Head of State HE President Ruto during CHAN visit in Kenya

The Confédération Africaine de Football (“CAF”) President Dr Patrice Motsepe today met  Kenya Head of State, President William Ruto at State House in Nairobi, Kenya on Friday, 20 December 2024. Dr Motsepe was in Kenya as part of his working visit to the three countries that will host the TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship 2024 (“CHAN”). Yesterday, he was in Tanzania. Later on Friday, he will travel to Uganda.  CAF President Dr Motsepe and President Ruto discussed preparations for the CHAN tournament. He  thanked President Ruto for his continued support of football in Kenya.
