Armah Kofi Buah and 3others approved despite Minority’s initial objection 

Parliament has approved Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah as Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, along with three other ministers-nominees. The others are Tiah Ibrahim, North East Regional Minister-designate, Frank Amoakohene, Ashanti Regional Minister-designate, and Akamugri Atanga Donatus, Upper East Regional Minister-designate. However, Mr. Armah Kofi Buah's approval came despite initial opposition from Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin. He noted that there was a directive from the NPP regarding concerns over the ministerial nominee's conduct, which must be addressed. Vetting of Volta MMDCEs begins Tuesday, 15 aspire for Hohoe 

Vetting of aspirants for the positions of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) in the Volta Region is set to begin on Tuesday, January 21, 2025.  The exercise, which is expected to end on Monday, January 27, 2025, will have aspirants from three Assemblies being vetted except for Wednesday, January 22, for only North Tongu and Thursday, January 23 for Central Tongu and South Tongu aspirants.  The schedule was released by the Volta Regional Communications Directorate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).  A total of 15 aspirants are, however, contesting the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) position where three finalists would be presented for nomination by the President and subsequently voted for by elected Assembly members and appointees.&nbs...
