Investigations commence on Teshie Homowo violence
Investigations into the violent incidents that occurred during the Kpokpoi sprinkling ceremony in the Teshie Traditional Area on Tuesday, have commenced to identify and apprehend the perpetrators involved.
The clashes resulted in pelting of stones and sporadic gunfire.
However, the swift intervention of the police restored calm, after which the Paramount Chief, Gbetsoolor Nii Ashitey Akomfrah III, performed his sprinkling rites peacefully as part of the annual Homowo festival celebration.
The announcement of the investigations was made contained in a press statement issued by the Ledzokuku Municipal Security Council (MUSEC) and copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Tema office.
