DCE Donates Sanitary Pads to Afia Kobi Ampem Girls SHS

School girls in Assin South District benefit from DCE’s sanitary pads initiative

Mr Jonathan Birikorang, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Assin South has donated over 2,000 sanitary pads to 100 public basic and 36 private schools to promote menstrual dignity and hygiene. Some of the beneficiary schools included Sibinso Catholic, Nyankumasi Ahenkro 'A' and 'B', Nyankumasi Ahenkro Methodist, Odumasi D/A Basic School and many others. The DCE said the donation of the sanitary pads were in fulfilment of President John Dramani Mahama's promise to support all school going girls in the country to be clean and healthy during their menstrual cycle. Foundation donates sanitary pads, stationery to Kpatia schools 

The BJL Koumase Foundation, a non-governmental organisation, has donated sanitary pads and educational materials to pupils of the Kpatia Primary and Junior High Schools in the Talensi District.  The items included 96 sanitary pads for adolescent girls, and writing materials such as 300 exercise books, boxes of pens, pencils, and erasers for both boys and girls.  The donation was part of the Foundation’s efforts to promote education and menstrual hygiene among schoolchildren in deprived communities.  At a brief ceremony to present the items to the pupils, Reverend Joseph Danso Kobre, Head of Operations, BJL Koumase Foundation, said the gesture was in honour of the late Benedict Joseph Labre Kumasi, former headteacher of the Bawku Senior High School, who passed away in 202...
