Daddy Lumba’s One-Week Observation Moved to Independence Square

Organizers of the one-week observation for the late highlife legend, Daddy Lumba, have announced a change of venue from Legon to the Black Star Square (Independence Square) in Accra. The decision comes in respect of the ban on funerals within the La Traditional Area, which includes Legon. The commemoration will now be held on Saturday, 30th August 2025, at Independence Square, where fans, family, and well-wishers are expected to gather in their numbers to celebrate and honor the life and legacy of the music icon.

The Ekuona Royal Family, together with the Fosuh Family, on Monday paid a courtesy call on the Chief of Staff, Hon. Julius Debrah, at the Flagstaff House in Accra. The purpose of the visit was to officially inform the Chief of Staff of the upcoming one-week commemoration ceremony in honour of Ghanaian music legend, Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba.
