One-week memorial held for legendary Highlife musician Daddy Lumba
Thousands of music enthusiasts and supporters from all walks of life congregated at the Independence Square in Accra to mark the one-week memorial of the late iconic Ghanaian musician Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba.
It was a time to reflect and celebrate the life of Daddy Lumba, one of Ghana's most famous music sons, who died on July 26, 2025, at the age of 60, following a brief illness.
It was a vibrant and well-attended one-week observation event, with scores of musicians, politicians, and sympathisers mourning and offering their sympathies to the bereaved family.
Despite no date announced for his final funeral rites, Daddy Lumba is set to be given a befitting burial in Kumasi in coming months.
