The Accra Regional Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the violent clashes that erupted at the Omanjor Chief’s Palace during the Homowo Festival on Saturday, August 30, 2025. The incident left three people dead and several others injured. According to preliminary police reports, the disturbances began when a misunderstanding broke out between followers of two rival chiefs during the sprinkling of the traditional food, Kpokpoi. The disagreement quickly escalated into an exchange of gunfire, throwing the celebrations into chaos.
