Mayor of Accra rallies residents ahead of First Lady’s free medical outreach on Friday, July 4

The Mayor of Accra, Hon. Michael Kpakpo Allotey, has encouraged residents to take advantage of the upcoming community medical outreach being organised by the Ghana AIDS Commission in partnership with the First Lady of the Republic of Ghana, Her Excellency Lordina Mahama. Mayor of Accra, Regional Minister feed Head Porters, less privileged in CBD after National Thanksgiving

The Mayor of Accra, Hon. Michael Kpakpo Allotey, and the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Linda Ocloo, have distributed over 500 hot meals to head porters and the underprivileged in the Tudu and Cocoa Marketing Board (CMB) areas of the Central Business District (CBD) to mark the maiden National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving. The exercise, which began around 5 pm, drew large crowds of excited head porters and less privileged people who cheered and rushed forward as the Mayor and Regional Minister handed out packed meals as part of efforts to demonstrate compassion and solidarity. Michael Kpakpo Allotey, has directly engaged street hawkers in parts of the Central Business District (CBD) today, ahead of a major decongestion exercise slated to begin on Tuesday, May 20. Accra decongestion exercise to target Kinbu Road to Railways, ECG Junction to the King Tackie Tawiah Statue, Opera Square to Adabraka from May 20

The upcoming decongestion exercise by the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) will target areas around the AMA Head Office, Kinbu Road to Railways, ECG Junction to the King Tackie Tawiah Statue, Zongo Lane, and Opera Square to Adabraka on the first day of the operation, scheduled for Tuesday, May 20, 2025. Day 2 will see action from Wato Junction through King Tackie Tawiah School and Cow Lane, UTC Road to Timber Market, and parts of the Kwame Nkrumah Circle, including Las Palmas and Glamour Road, while Day 3 will target the remaining portions of the Circle and the Kaneshie enclave, including Pamprom Lane and the footbridges.
