UCC Hosts Maiden Sociology and Anthropology Lecture, Urges Unity for Pan-Africanism Success  

The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) has held its maiden public lecture with a call on Africans to prioritise internal unity as a foundation for the success of the Pan-Africanism agenda.   Dr. Joseph Ocran, Head of the Department of Social Sciences at Central University, who delivered the keynote address, stressed that efforts to reconnect with the African diaspora would be futile without strong internal cohesion among Africans on the continent.   “If we cannot mend our ties within our African space, we have no business looking at connecting with those on the outside. POLICE ARREST ONE SUSPECT FOR THE MURDER OF A LECTURER IN THE CENTRAL REGION

The Central Regional Police Command has today, 22d May, 2025 arrested suspect, Joshua Karry Arthur in connection with the murder of a Senior Lecturer of the University of Education, Winneba, at Essuokyir in the Central Region. The deceased lecturer had been reported missing on 21s May, 2025 by his colleagues who had indicated to Police that all efforts to reach him had yielded no response. Police proceeded to the residence of the deceased, where the suspect was found and arrested. Police also discovered some blood stains which were traced to a heap of sand about 23 metres from the house. UESD Organises Fifth Commencement Lecture, Launches A Rocha Ghana Award 

University of Environment and Sustainable Development (UESD) has held its fifth annual commencement lecture in Somanya to address the critical challenges faced by the country in mitigating the effect of climate change.  The theme of this year’s lecture was "Forests for the Future: Strategies for Addressing Climate Change, Biodiversity Loss, and Sustainable Development in Ghana."   The conference also sought to address the essential role forests play in mitigating climate change and promoting sustainability.   The event was also used to launch the A Rocha Ghana Award for the best student in BSc.
