Two men jailed for defilement in Oti Region

Two individuals, Joseph Boateng, alias Small pepper, 37, and Hashiru Zurukanini, alias Scare them, 27, have been sentenced to seven years imprisonment each for defilement and abetment of defilement, respectively. This is contained in a release signed and copied to the Ghana News Agency by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Mr. John Nchor of Public Affairs Units of the Oti Regional Command. The convicts were arraigned before the Jasikan Circuit Court, presided over by Mr Lambert Yinigabague Keriba. Father jailed 10 years for impregnating 15-year-old daughter

The Circuit Court at Tokor in the Ketu South Municipality, presided over by Mr Joseph Ofosu Behome, has sentenced a 36-year-old father to 10 years imprisonment with hard labour for impregnating his daughter. The convict, Kofitse Zigah, an electrician residing at Adoteykope, a suburb of Aflao defiled his 15-year-old daughter on two occasions, resulting in the pregnancy. He pleaded guilty to the charge of defilement and jailed accordingly. Two pals jailed 16 months for stealing

Two friends, who stole gold bearing stones valued GH¢15,000 from a grinding machine shop in Kaniankor Top, a suburb of Nsuaem, have been sentenced to a total of 16 months' imprisonment in hard labour by the Tarkwa District Court One. Ibrahim Asante and his accomplice, Kwame Ntiamoah, both galamsey operators, would each serve eight months imprisonment. They pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit crime and stealing. Inspector of Police Patrick Essien, Prosecuting, told the court presided over by Mr Charles Owusu Nsiah that the complainant, Francis Ankomah, owns a grinding machine shop in Kaniankor Top, and resided in the same community with the convicts.
