Driver jailed for stealing GHS100,000 from employer 

A 30-year-old driver, Ebenezer Nii Adjei, has been sentenced to 12 months imprisonment by an Accra Circuit Court for stealing GHS100,000 from his employer. Adjei, who pleaded guilty, admitted using the funds to buy a car and motorbike, and to rent and furnish an apartment.  The judge, Mrs. Susan Eduful, was informed that the vehicle and motorbike had since been recovered. According to Chief Inspector Clemence Takyi, the complainant, Alidu Arimiyaw, an event organiser from Nungua, had employed Adjei for some time. On May 21, 2025, while on duty together, Arimiyaw left a bag containing GHS100,000 in the car to transact with a mobile money vendor.  He had earlier told a decorator the funds were for an upcoming event. Court Jails Man 15 Years for Motorbike Robbery in Upper West Region

The Wa Circuit Court has sentenced a 20-year-old man, Nawaf Abdulai, to 15 years imprisonment for his involvement in a series of motorbike robberies in the Upper West Region. According to a police statement, the suspect, together with an accomplice, Awal Abass—who is currently at large—robbed two victims of their Haojue and Luojia motorbikes bearing registration numbers M-21-449 UW and M-17-4607 UW, respectively. The robbery occurred on March 6, 2025. In a swift response, the Upper West Regional Police Command arrested Nawaf Abdulai at his residence on March 8, 2025. During interrogation, Abdulai admitted to the crime. The case was subsequently prosecuted in court. Tiler jailed for defiling, impregnating 12-year-old girl  

The Tarkwa Circuit Court has sentenced a tiler, Stephen Otu, 32, to 22 years’ imprisonment with hard labour for defiling and impregnating a 12-year-old girl.   The convict, popularly known as Atta, pleaded guilty to the charge raised against him, and begged the court to have mercy on him.   However, the court, presided over by Mrs Hathia Ama Manu, found Otu guilty and sentenced him accordingly to serve as a deterrent to others who might want to engage in similar acts.   Chief Inspector of Police Abraham Ayitey, prosecuting, told the court that the complainant, a 38-year-old Pragia rider, was the father of the victim who was in primary six.   He said the complainant, victim and the convict resided in the same area at Wassa Akropong in the Wassa Amen...
