IGP to Pay Courtesy Call on Bawku Naaba During Official Visit

As part of efforts to foster peace and strengthen collaboration in the wake of recent unrest, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, will pay a courtesy call on the overlord of Bawku, Zugraan Bawku Naaba Asigri Abugrago Azoka II. The visit, part of an official trip to Bawku by the IGP and a delegation from the National Police Headquarters, aims to deepen cooperation with traditional authorities. The team includes members of the Police Management Board and other technical experts. IGP Leads Delegation to Bawku After Violent Incident Claims Life

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has led a high-powered delegation to Bawku following a violent clash between some youth and the police that left one person dead and several others injured. The delegation, which includes officers from operations, investigations, and intelligence units, is in the Upper East town to gain first-hand insight into the security situation and to assess the needs on the ground. The violence, which erupted on April 9, 2025, resulted in the tragic death of Fuseini Iddrisu. President directs IGP to investigate deaths of Ghanaians during 2020/2024 elections

President John Dramani Mahama has requested the office of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) to initiate immediate investigations into the tragic deaths of Ghanaian citizens during the 2020/2024 general election. Dr Callistus Mahama, the Executive Secretary to the President, in a letter addressed to the IGP, said those incidents, which occurred in various parts of the country, had left a lasting scar on the nation's democratic process. It was, thus, imperative that justice was served for the victims and their families, it said.
