Four Arrested with 315 Parcels of Suspected Indian Hemp in Tema
Police in Tema have arrested four suspects after discovering 315 compressed parcels of substances believed to be Indian hemp concealed in a truck.
The operation, carried out by officers of the Tema Community 1 District Police on Monday, September 8, 2025, followed a tip-off about suspicious activity at the Community 1 Industrial Area.
The suspects, identified as Nura Sali (44), Pius Chukwuma (49), Mustapha Umar (18), and Abdulai Amayau (23), were found transporting the suspected narcotics in a truck with registration number GN 7291-16. Police say the parcels had been carefully hidden in the vehicle’s tyres to avoid detection.
The truck was intercepted and impounded during the operation, and the suspects are currently in police custody assisting with investigations.
