Ashanti Region Unites for Independence Day Clean-Up Exercise
The Ashanti Region marked Ghana’s 68th Independence Anniversary with a large-scale clean-up exercise that drew thousands of volunteers, reflecting a strong sense of patriotism and civic responsibility. Dr. Frank Amoakohene, the Ashanti Regional Minister, praised the commitment of all participants in tackling waste and restoring cleanliness across the region.
Despite concerns over the volume of filth in certain areas, the Minister noted that the enthusiasm and teamwork demonstrated by local residents, the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (RCC), the Security Services, Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), Zoomlion, volunteer groups, students and teachers, Kumawood actors, political parties, and traditional authorities (“Nananom”) were instrumental in the success of the exercise.
