Ga Traditional Council Rejects Legitimacy of Self-Acclaimed Igbo King in Ghana
The Ga Traditional Council has firmly distanced itself from recent developments surrounding a self-styled Igbo king in the Ga State, expressing strong disapproval over the actions of Eze Dr. Chukwudi Jude Ihenetu, who has assumed the title “King of the Igbos in Ghana.”
In a press release issued after an emergency meeting held on July 9, 2025, and chaired by His Royal Majesty King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, the Ga Mantse, the Council unanimously resolved several key positions on the matter.
The Council stated emphatically that it does not recognize Eze Dr. Ihenetu, nor does it acknowledge any individual holding the title of Igbo King within the Ga State.
