DONATIONS UPDATE: Over GHS 8.6 Million and US$20,000 Raised for Children of August 6 Tragedy Victims

Donations for August 6 Tragedy Children’s Support Fund Reach Over GHS 3.5 Million

Donations to the Children’s Support Fund, established to care for the children of victims of the August 6, 2025 helicopter crash, have now reached GHS 3,576,600.00 and US$20,000.00, according to the Fund’s latest update. Between August 19 and 28, several individuals, organizations, and institutions contributed generously to the Fund. Z-9 Helicopter Crash Probe Officially Begins

The Ministry of Defence has announced that the official Investigation Board set up to look into the recent crash of a Z-9 military helicopter has formally begun its work. The Board, chaired by the National Security Coordinator, comprises representatives from the Ghana Air Force and the Aircraft Accident and Incident Investigation and Prevention Bureau of the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA). In addition, the United States of America is supporting the process by providing technical advice through visiting investigators from the U.S. Air Force.
