Ridge Hospital Condemns Assault on Nurse, Responds to Viral Emergency Ward Video
The management of the Greater Accra Regional Hospital (RIDGE) has reacted to a viral video circulating on social media concerning an accident case that was brought to its Emergency Department.
According to a statement signed by Ms. Juliana Haruna, Head of Public Relations at GARH, the incident occurred when relatives and friends of the accident victims invaded the emergency triage while clinicians were attending to other critical cases. Their overwhelming presence, the hospital explained, disrupted the smooth delivery of care, created unnecessary tension, and even endangered healthcare workers.
“In the process, one of our dedicated nurses was assaulted. This unacceptable act resulted in a temporary halt in service delivery,” the statement noted.
