Ghana, Germany seal pact for youth employment in Germany

I’m The Ministry of Labour, Jobs and Employment has sealed an employment pact with its partners in Ghana and Germany to send some young Ghanaians to Germany for skills training and employment as government makes frantic efforts to significantly reduce youth unemployment in the country. The agreement dubbed the “ROCET Project,” provides the opportunity for 30 qualified Ghanaians between the ages of 18 and 30 to visit Germany every year for a three-year programme, with the first cohort set to start the programme in 2026. Galamsey threatens Ghana’s survival — KAIPTC Commandant calls for urgent national action

Air Commodore David Anetey Akrong, the Commandant of the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC), has described illegal small-scale mining, popularly known as galamsey, as an existential threat to Ghana’s survival. He warned that the menace had evolved into a national crisis with grave implications for the country’s environment, economy, and human security. The President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, has declared three days of national mourning in honour of the late Her Excellency Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, former First Lady of the Republic of Ghana. The Government of Ghana has declared three days of national mourning following the passing of Her Excellency Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, former First Lady of the Republic of Ghana. In a statement issued by the Office of the President and signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Spokesperson to the President and Minister for Government Communications, President John Dramani Mahama announced that the period of national mourning will begin today, Friday, October 24, and end on Sunday, October 26, 2025. Ghana and Grenada, a Caribbean Island nation, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the recruitment of Ghanaian nurses in Grenada.
