GBA Refutes Claims Over President Mahama’s Invitation to 2025 Annual Conference

The Ghana Bar Association (GBA) has dismissed reports suggesting that President John Dramani Mahama was not invited to its upcoming 2025 Annual Conference, describing the claims as false, misleading and a misconception of facts. In a statement issued by the Association, the GBA clarified that President Mahama has, in fact, been duly invited as the Guest of Honour for the conference scheduled to take place in Wa, Upper West Region. According to the GBA, the President has also formally accepted the invitation. Ghana Bar Association Mourns Victims of August 6 Helicopter Crash

The Ghana Bar Association (GBA) has joined the nation in mourning the eight Ghanaians who tragically lost their lives in the August 6, 2025 helicopter crash while en route to Obuasi for a national assignment. Ghana Bar Association President, Efua Ghartey, raises possibility for Public Hearing in hearing on Petition to Remove Chief Justice

The President of the Ghana Bar Association, Mrs Efua Ghartey has raised the possibility for a public hearing in the hearing of the Petition to Remove the Chief Justice. She said this at the Mid Year Review Conference of the Ghana Bar Association at Accra on April 26th 2025. Efua Ghartey said that in spite of the constitutional provisions that said the proceedings should be held in camera, the current circumstances where the petition and all matters related to it were in the public domain, it may serve the country better if the matter was held in public.
