The Keta Municipal Secretariat of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) has launched an urgent appeal for public support following severe flooding that has disrupted education in several communities within the Lawoshime enclave of the Keta Municipality in the Volta Region. According to a statement signed by Mr. Wonder Setsoafia Deynu, the Municipal NADMO Director, which was made available to the GNA, the flooding has particularly endangered schoolchildren and teachers in the communities of Mamimi, Hagodzi, Sonugbe, and Hatorgodo, making the continuation of academic activities extremely unsafe and difficult. Flood and fire disasters recorded in the Central Region in the past week alone have affected some 4,636 residents across 11 districts, the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) has reported. The numerous victims, mostly affected by floods, have lost their homes, belongings, and sources of income while vulnerable persons, including children, the elderly, and persons with disabilities have been rendered despondent.
