Overpopulation is the main cause of environmental degradation – Elizabeth Ohene
Madam Elizabeth Ohene, a former Minister of State, Friday stated that overpopulation was the main cause of environmental degradation.
"Overpopulation and human activity are putting pressure on God's creation," she asserted.
Mad. Ohene stated this at the official opening of the 15th Synod of the Ho East Presbytery of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana at Abutia Teti in the Ho West District of the Volta region as the Guest Speaker.
The three-day Synod is on the theme "care for creation: the task and mission of the church."
It was being attended by about 200 delegates including Presbytery executives, Pastors, Catechists, Presbyters, Treasurers, heads of the Church's institutions and representatives of groups in the Church.
