Police Assure Public of Swift Action Following Assaults During Ablekuma North Election Re-run
The Accra Regional Police Command has assured the public that decisive action will be taken against individuals involved in violent incidents during the Ablekuma North parliamentary election re-run held on Friday, July 11, 2025.
According to a statement signed by Superintendent Juliana Obeng, Head of Public Affairs for the Accra Region, the Police recorded a number of isolated incidents of violence, including assaults, which briefly disrupted voting at some polling stations.
Preliminary investigations suggest that these acts of violence created temporary chaos but were quickly managed by police officers, who intervened promptly to restore calm and ensure the continuation of the electoral process.
