Shatta Wale Interrogated by EOCO Over Lamborghini Linked to $4m U.S. Crime; Granted GHC10m Bail

Popular Ghanaian dancehall artist Charles Nii Armah Mensah, widely known as Shatta Wale, has been interrogated by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) over a luxury Lamborghini Urus identified by U.S. authorities as proceeds of a $4 million crime. The vehicle, which was seized in May 2025, was linked to a case involving Ghanaian national Nana Kwabena Amuah, who is currently serving a jail term in the United States. The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky issued an order on August 15, 2025, forfeiting the car as a substitute asset, authorising the U.S. government to take possession of it as restitution for the crime.
