Dr. Eric Oduro Osae rejects GTEC directive over doctoral title
Dr. Eric Oduro Osae, a former Director-General of the Internal Audit Agency, has publicly rejected the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission’s (GTEC) directive to cease using the title “Dr.” following questions about the validity of his terminal degrees.
In a letter dated October 27, 2025, addressed to the GTEC’s Director General and sighted by the Ghana News Agency (GNA) Dr. Osae stated that he had not received any formal communication from the GTEC regarding the matter.
He also reaffirmed his confidence in the legitimacy of his academic credentials.
"I wish to state categorically that I have not received any such letter from your outfit. Should such a communication exist, I respectfully request that it be made available to me through the appropriate official channels...
