COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno Sworn in as Ghana’s New Inspector-General of Police
President John Dramani Mahama has officially sworn in COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno as the new Inspector-General of Police (IGP) following the removal of Dr. George Akuffo Dampare from office on March 13, 2025. The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Jubilee House, where President Mahama expressed confidence in COP Yohuno’s ability to lead the Ghana Police Service into a new era of transformation and modernization.
COP Yohuno’s appointment was made in accordance with Articles 91 and 202 of the 1992 Constitution, with consultations from the Council of State.
