One feared dead, others injured after bus runs over traders at COCOBOD area

One person is feared dead with several others injured after an Ayalolo bus ran over some traders at the COCOBOD area, in the Central Business District of Accra, on Monday. The incident was said to have occurred at about 1530 hours. Nii Okine Aryee, an eyewitness, told the Ghana News Agency, that the accident occurred when the bus, with registered number: GT 5493–17, allegedly lost control. In the process, he said, the bus went over the pavement where many traders were still busily trading. The Cocoa Health and Extension Division of the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has engaged cocoa farmers in the Bodi District of the Western North Region to educate them on the producer price for the 2025/2026 cocoa season. COCOBOD urged to deal with difficulties in the cocoa sector

Togbega Gabusu VII, Paramount Chief of Gbi Traditional Area in the Volta Region, has called on the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) to deal with difficulties associated with the cocoa sector of Ghana. He said human activities such as illegal mining (galamsey) and smuggling of cocoa beans were affecting the sector which was one of the flourishing sectors in Ghana and West Africa at large.
