Gender and Climate Change Vulnerability Hotspot Maps Launched to Support Decision-making

The Gender and Climate Change Vulnerability Hotspot Maps have been launched with a call on policy makers to use it to support their decisions in targeting resources to support women in vulnerable areas. The maps Identify geographic areas where women are disproportionately impacted by cimate change due to a combination of cimate hazards, exposure, and existng gender inequalities. Developed by the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) with support from the Delegation of the European Union to Ghana and AGNES, the Maps identified specific districts where women face the greatest risks across agriculture, water, and energy sectors. ILO holds conference on just transition, climate change

Young people in Keta sensitized on Climate Change effects and ocean overnance 

The Strategic Youth Network for Development Ghana (SYND), a non-governmental organization, focused on climate change and biodiversity, has educated fisherfolk and young residents of Keta on the effects of climate change and its link to ocean governance.  The sensitisation programme, which is part of SYND’s project on ocean governance, aims to involve the youth in decision-making on natural resource management and environmental conservation. KIC/ AAMUSTED project trains 220 young farmers on climate smart agriculture  

The Kosmos Innovative Center project of the Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED) has trained 220 young farmers on climate smart agriculture. It also provided the young farmers between 18 and 35 years with essential farm inputs including fertilizers, pesticides, weedicides, fungicides, and seeds aimed at enhancing productivity.    The implementation of the project followed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the KIC and the University for collaborative relationships on various areas of agricultural, agribusiness, capacity-building interest, and mutual benefit.
