Kassena Nankana West holds monthly sanitation exercise

The Kassena Nankana West District Assembly has launched a monthly sanitation exercise dubbed: “Clean Kassena Nankana West” in response to the relaunch of the National Sanitation Day initiative by President John Dramani Mahama. The maiden edition of the clean-up exercise took place in Paga, the district capital. Residents, including youth groups, security personnel and other stakeholders came out in their numbers to sweep, collect refuse and desilt drains along major routes, the market square and other public places. Kumasi to Undergo Massive Clean-Up Ahead of Royal Visit by King of Eswatini

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has announced a city-wide clean-up exercise scheduled for Saturday, June 21, 2025, in anticipation of the high-profile visit of His Majesty King Mswati III, Head of State of the Kingdom of Eswatini (formerly Swaziland). The King is expected to arrive in Kumasi from June 24 to June 28, 2025, on a courtesy visit to the Asantehene, His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. Monthly clean-up exercise necessary to strengthen community unity   

Mr. Abukari Abdul-Wahab, Municipal Head of Environmental Department, Krowor Municipal Assembly, has emphasised the importance of the monthly clean-up exercise initiated by the Greater Accra Regional Minister.   Mr. Abdul-Wahab noted that it would not only improve sanitation but also foster unity between residents and the assembly.   The exercise forms part of the Greater Accra Region Minister's initiative to promote environmental cleanliness and public health and foster community participation in waste management.    He highlighted the need for collective action in maintaining a clean environment, noting that sanitation challenges required the combined efforts of both local authorities and community members during the regional sanitation day.    “T...
