Catholic Priest advocates extension of retirement age for Supreme Court Judges
A Catholic Priest has advocated the extension of retirement age for Supreme Court (SC) Judges, as the 2025 Constitution Review Committee (CRC) upscales public engagement on the constitutional reforms. The Reverend Father Joseph Domfeh, the Administrator of Christ the King Cathedral in Sunyani, recommended that the retirement age of the SC Judges ought to be extended from the current 70 to 80 years. He also called for a reduction in the number of Members of Parliament (MPs), describing the current size of the legislature as excessive, when he shared his views at the Ninth Zonal Public Engagement organized by the CRC in Sunyani.
