KIC Awards 22 businesses $200,000 in start-up seed funding

The Kosmos Innovation Centre (KIC), in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, has awarded a total of USD 200,000 in start-up seed funding to 22 teams of young entrepreneurs. The awards were presented during the final pitch session of the 2025 AgriTech Challenge Pro, held over two days in Kumasi. The event brought together 43 teams from universities across the country, each presenting existing business ventures aimed at transforming Ghana's agricultural sector.  Their pitches included innovative AgriTech and food solutions, ranging from tech-driven tools and sustainable farming methods to initiatives focused on job creation and employment. A total of 120 businesses at Gushegu trained on digital tools

A total of 120 young businesswomen in the Gushegu Municipality have undergone training to equip them with relevant digital tools to leverage on-line platforms for marketing and finance. The three week-long training, which ended at Gushegu in the Northern Region, was to promote rural economic empowerment, strengthen livelihoods through market access and build the capacity of Community Information Centres (CIC). Business to see relief as Ato Forson promises VAT reforms

The Minister of Finance designate, Dr Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, has promised to carry out significant reforms in the implementation of the Value Added Tax (VAT) . He said this will give huge relief to businesses that are suffocating under the presented chaotic and distorted implementation of the VAT. Dr Ato Forson was speaking during his appearance at the Appointments Committee of Parliament on Monday.
