Four persons granted GHS 60,000.00 bail for rioting in school 

Four persons arrested by the police for their involvement in the disturbances at the Osei Tutu Senior High School at Akropong in the Atwima Nwabiagya South Municipality, have been granted a GHS 60,000.00 bail by the Abuawka circuit court.  The four, who pleaded not guilty to two charges of conspiracy to commit crime and riot, were each granted a GHc 15,000.00 bail with one surety by the court presided by Mr Jephthah Appau.  They are Samuel Aloo, 21 Mechanic, Abukari Sadik 24, Butcher, Andrews Boateng 27, dealer in second hand goods, and Emmanuel Gariba 20, tricycle Rider.  They will reappear before the court on October 17, this year.  Police Detective Inspector Alexander Agbekpornu prosecuting, told the court that the complainant in the case was a Police Officer,...

National service person accused of GHC303K bank fraud granted bail

A 25-year-old National Service Person accused of misappropriating GHC303,950 from a bank customer has been granted bail by an Accra Circuit Court. Jesper Kobina Mensah, currently unemployed, was admitted to bail in the sum of GHC400,000 with three sureties, one to be justified. The court further directed that he must not travel outside Ghana without prior permission and report to the Police once weekly. The case has been adjourned to October 30, 2025. Court grants fake doctor GHC100,000.00 bail

An Accra Circuit Court has granted GHC100,000.00 bail to Frederick Papa Kow-Assifuah, the fake doctor who was arrested at Kasoa Crispo in the Central Region, with two sureties to be justified. The sureties should be justified with a landed property while the land’s certificate should be deposited with the Court’s Registry. Kow-Assifuah, a 30-year-old trader, denied he wilfully and falsely used the title “Dr,’’ professing to practice medicine without being registered and defrauding six people. He is to return to the Court on June 25, 2025.
