Ohempon Dr. Asiamah renovates abandoned old-age building for Atebubu GIS

Ohempon Dr. Yeboah Asiamah, Paramount Chief of the Atebubu Traditional Area, has renovated an abandoned Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) building at the old Atebubu Water Works in the Atebubu-Amantin Municipality. The refurbished facility will now serve as the permanent office of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) in the Bono East Region. Mr. Michael Osei, General Manager of the Atebubu Stool Lands Secretariat, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the building had been re-allocated and documented as the official GIS office. Police retrieve nearly decomposed body tied with rope

Police at Atebubu in the Bono East Region has retrieved a lifeless body of a man believed to be in his 50s at New-Konkrompe, a farming community in the Atebubu/Amantin Municipality of the region. Residents in the town woke up to discover the nearly decomposed body tied with a rope hanging on a tree at a refuse dumpsite in the area on Wednesday August 20, 2025. The Police in consultation with the chiefs of New-Konkrompe had since buried the body, a police source told the Ghana News Agency (GNA), However, some of the residents told the GNA that the deceased was not a native of the town saying rituals ought to be performed to pacify the local deity. Chaos at Atebubu as police fire gunshots to disperse aggressive drivers

Police at Atebubu in the Bono East Region fired gunshots to disperse some aggrieved commercial drivers who besieged the Atebubu Police Station in the early hours of Saturday. The GNA gathered that the aggressive drivers were at the police station to demand justice for their colleague who was attacked and killed by a group of armed robbers on the Atebubu-Kumasi highway on Friday night January 10, 2025. Police had since deposited the body of the deceased, Ali Ibrahim, at a mortuary in the town. However, no arrest had been made.
