Seventeen individuals have been apprehended in a coordinated anti-galamsey operation by the Special Police Anti-Galamsey Taskforce from the National Police Headquarters. The operation, carried out on May 25, 2025, targeted illegal mining activities in Samreboi, located in the Western Region of Ghana. The suspects include seven Chinese nationals and ten Ghanaian citizens who were allegedly involved in unauthorized mining operations.
