African Union Mourns Ghana Helicopter Crash Victims, Expresses Solidarity with Nation
The African Union Commission has extended its deepest condolences to the Government and people of Ghana following the tragic military helicopter crash in the Ashanti Region that claimed the lives of eight individuals, including two senior government ministers.
In a statement issued from Addis Ababa, the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, expressed profound sorrow over the incident, which he described as a “national tragedy.” Among those who perished in the crash were Ghana’s Minister for Defence, Hon. Edward Omane Boamah, and Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Hon. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed.
