The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) has joined the nation in mourning the victims of the tragic helicopter crash that claimed the lives of distinguished leaders, patriots, and servicemen on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
In a statement of commiseration, SWAG described the deceased as “remarkable symbols of dedication and service to our nation”, noting that their lives and work left behind “a powerful legacy of integrity, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to the betterment of our society.”
The association emphasised that the contributions of the victims had touched countless lives and would continue to inspire generations to come.

“We extend our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, colleagues, and the nation for this great loss,” the statement read. “May we find strength and solace in the enduring impact they made during their lifetime, and may their souls rest in perfect peace.”
The August 6 tragedy has left Ghana in deep mourning, as tributes pour in from across the country for the victims who served in various capacities with distinction and honor.
