Rujo Agri-Trade Limited, a Ghanaian agro-business, has secured new investment to boost climate-smart agriculture and support smallholder farmers across northern Ghana.
The funding, provided by RDF Ghana LBG—a development finance institution—will facilitate the expansion of rice and soybean production, the acquisition of post-harvest technologies, and the strengthening of extension services to improve farmer training.
This was disclosed in a press statement copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra.

Founded in 2014, Rujo Agri-Trade works with over 3,000 smallholder farmers cultivating rice and soybean in the Northern, Savannah, and Upper East Regions.
The company delivers bundled input services such as seeds, fertilisers, ploughing, and harvesting through a network of Farm Enterprise Advisors and Community Champions, using an in-kind repayment model.
Through its flagship brand, Maraba Foods, Rujo supplies quality grains to school feeding programmes, millers, and export markets, while also advancing organic rice farming and conservation agriculture.
The firm is piloting seed multiplication and vegetable production on irrigated lands to improve farmer resilience and diversify income sources.
Mr. Joshua Toatoba, Chief Executive Officer of Rujo Agri-Trade, described the investment as an affirmation of the company’s impact-driven approach.
“We are grateful to RDF Ghana and Pangea Africa for believing in our vision. This support will help us deepen our reach and improve productivity while promoting climate resilience in Ghana’s food systems,” he emphasised.
The transaction was facilitated by Pangea Africa Ltd., an advisory firm that supports agribusiness development and investment readiness across Ghana and beyond.
Mr. John Scicchitano, Partner at Pangea Africa, said: “Rujo is an example of a farmer-centric business using innovation and inclusion to address systemic challenges in agriculture. We are proud to have worked alongside them and look forward to their next growth chapter.”
RDF Ghana LBG provides targeted financial support and capacity-building to enterprises in agriculture, agribusiness, and renewable energy to promote inclusive economic growth across the country.
