President of Nigeria, H.E. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has expressed deep sorrow and solidarity with the government and people of Ghana following the devastating helicopter crash that claimed the lives of eight individuals, including two prominent cabinet ministers.
In a condolence message released by the Nigerian State House through its Statehouse Digital Directorate, President Tinubu extended heartfelt sympathies to Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama, the affected families, and the entire nation.
The tragic crash resulted in the death of Ghana’s Defence Minister, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Minister for Environment, Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, and six other individuals, all of whom were reportedly on official national duty.

President Tinubu assured President Mahama that the thoughts and prayers of the Nigerian people are with Ghana during this period of profound grief and national mourning.
“The government and people of Nigeria stand in solidarity with our Ghanaian brothers and sisters,” the statement read. “We urge the bereaved families and the Ghanaian nation to find comfort in the knowledge that their loved ones died in the line of patriotic service.”
President Tinubu concluded by praying for the peaceful repose of the souls of the departed and for strength and healing for all those left behind.
The tragic incident has drawn condolences from world leaders and diplomatic missions, highlighting the far-reaching impact of the loss on the West African region and beyond.
