The Nigerian online entertainment space has been thrown into mourning following reports that popular TikTok skitmaker, Mr. Sanku, has died in a ghastly accident along the Oyo-Ibadan expressway.
According to accounts from colleagues in the industry, Sanku—also known as Zanku—was returning home to Ogbomoso after a shoot in Ilorin when the incident occurred. Eyewitnesses allege that the entertainer was driving at high speed when he lost control of his Lexus ES 350, veered off the road, and spiraled into a canal. Some bystanders, however, claim the car resembled a Lexus RX 350.
Reports indicate that the crash may have also injured nearby commuters and traders. A passenger in the vehicle with Sanku reportedly sustained serious injuries, though their condition remains unclear.
Eyewitnesses said Sanku was still alive after the crash and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he later passed away. His colleague and close friend, Eregele, confirmed that his body has since been deposited at a mortuary.
Eregele expressed anger over the actions of some first responders, accusing them of recording videos of the critically injured skitmaker instead of offering immediate help. He insisted that Sanku might have survived if emergency response had been swift.
Despite multiple confirmations from colleagues, some fans remain skeptical, suggesting the incident could be a staged skit until an official statement is released. However, Eregele has maintained that the tragic news is true.
