POJOBA Updates Arrangements for Vigil Mass Honouring Late Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah

The National Executive Council (NEC) of the Pope John Old Boys Association (POJOBA) has announced updated arrangements for a Vigil Mass in honour of the late Daasebre Hon. Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah. The event, which replaces the earlier announced Requiem Mass, will also honour the late Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala.

Both men, who were devoted parishioners of Christ the King Parish in Accra, will be celebrated in a joint service organised in collaboration with their families.

According to POJOBA, the Vigil Mass will take place on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Accra. The programme will begin with a procession at 5:00 pm from Christ the King to Jubilee House to lay wreaths. This will be followed at 6:00 pm by hymns, tributes, and the reading of biographies, with POJOBA members expected to be seated by 5:45 pm. The Holy Mass will commence promptly at 7:30 pm.

Members are encouraged to attend dressed in any POJOBA or POJOSS attire as a show of solidarity with the bereaved families. The association noted that similar commemorative events may also be organised by other POJOBA chapters across the country.

“This solemn occasion is an opportunity for us to stand together in prayer, remembrance, and honour of two remarkable individuals whose lives left lasting legacies,” the NEC said in its statement.
