Ohempon Dr Asiamah institutes clean-up campaign to improve sanitation at Atebubu

The campaign instituted by Ohempon Dr Yeboah Asiamah, the President of the Council seeks to provide dust and waste bins to achieve his vision for improved sanitation in the area.

In that regard the council has set up a sanitation committee, chaired by Oheneba Afriyie Addo, the Benkumhene (sub-chief) to facilitate the distribution and usage of the waste bins.

Interacting with the media on the side-lines a brief ceremony held at the Atebubu Piabre Palace, Oheneba Afriyie said “Ohempon Dr Asiamah has procured quantities of the dustbins, and we are going to commence the distribution today”.

He cautioned the people against littering around, saying with the waste bins in place the people had no justification to litter plastic materials and polythene bags around.

Oheneba Afriyie indicated that the bins were not meant for household refuse and warned the people from dumping household refuse in them.

Nana Owusu Aduomi, the Alantahene (sun-chief) of the council and the Vice Chairman of the committee who operates a private sanitation firm in the area called on wealthy people and corporate bodies to support achieve the vision of the Council.

Mr Bismarck Oti, the Atebubu-Amantin Municipal Environmental Health Officer commended the paramount chief for his vision and called on the people to support him.
