The Constituency Youth Organizers (CYOs) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have strongly condemned what they describe as reckless, divisive, and tribal comments made by Hon. Bryan Acheampong against the party’s flagbearer, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
In a statement signed by Prince Addo Boakye Yiadom, Asunafo South Constituency Youth Organizer, the group expressed deep concern over the remarks, stressing that such utterances threaten the spirit of unity and inclusiveness that has defined the NPP since its formation.
“The NPP has, since its inception, thrived on cohesion. Dr. Bawumia has, through his leadership, intellect, and vision, proven to be a unifying force not only for the NPP but for the entire nation. Any attack on him based on tribal sentiments is an attack on the very principles of fairness, democracy, and inclusivity that define the New Patriotic Party,” the statement read.

The youth organizers have called on Bryan Acheampong to immediately retract his comments and issue an unqualified apology to Dr. Bawumia, the Ghanaian people, and the NPP fraternity.
They further urged the party’s leadership to take steps to prevent such divisive rhetoric within the party, particularly as it prepares for the upcoming general elections.
Reaffirming their commitment, the CYOs declared their unflinching support for Dr. Bawumia, describing him as the true embodiment of the vision and aspirations of the Ghanaian youth.
“The NPP is bigger than any individual interest, and as Youth, we remain committed to protecting the unity and integrity of the Party as we work tirelessly to secure victory in December 2028,” the statement concluded.
