NPP Presidential Hopefuls to Ballot for Positions Ahead of January 31st Presidential Primary

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has scheduled a balloting exercise for its presidential aspirants ahead of the much-anticipated January 31, 2026 Presidential Primary, which will determine the party’s flagbearer for the 2028 general elections.

In an official communication issued by William Yamoah, Secretary to the NPP Presidential Elections Committee, all aspirants who successfully passed the vetting process have been invited to participate in the balloting session.

According to the notice, the event will take place on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at the NPP Headquarters in Asylum Down, Accra. The exercise aims to determine the order in which the aspirants’ names will appear on the ballot paper for the upcoming internal election.

The letter, which was copied to the Party’s General Secretary, Acting National Chairman, and the Chairman of the Presidential Elections Committee, emphasizes the importance of the exercise as part of the Party’s ongoing commitment to transparency and fairness in its democratic processes.

Those invited to participate in the balloting include:

  • Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong
  • Hon. Ken Ohene Agyapong
  • Hon. Dr. Bryan Acheampong
  • H.E. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia
  • Hon. Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum

The Committee expressed appreciation to all aspirants for their cooperation and reaffirmed the Party’s dedication to conducting a credible and peaceful primary.

The January 31st Presidential Primary is expected to be a crucial contest as the NPP seeks to elect a leader capable of continuing the party’s legacy and steering its vision ahead of the next general elections.
