The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced the resolution of a recent system disruption that caused delays in the transmission of Product Certificates for Form M and the Standards Organisation of Nigeria Conformity Assessment Programme (SONCAP) documents required for Pre-Arrival Assessment Report (PAAR) processing.
According to the NCS, the technical glitch occurred on July 23, 2025, during the onboarding of the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) onto the B’Odogwu platform. The integration challenges temporarily hindered traders’ ability to accurately process Form M, PAAR, and Single Goods Declaration (SGD).
Some of the issues identified included limited space for trader names, incorrect data formatting, missing 10-digit product codes, unclear error prompts, and difficulties linking Tax Identification Numbers (TIN) to traders’ profiles. While the NCS was able to quickly address the faults within its own system, additional coordination with SON was required to fully resolve the matter.

The NCS confirmed that by Wednesday, August 6, 2025, both agencies had successfully restored seamless transmission of Product Certificates and SONCAP documents, with the backlog of delayed transactions now being cleared.
As part of efforts to enhance service delivery, the B’Odogwu platform has now been rolled out nationwide across Zones A, B, C, and D, with trained customs officers deployed to provide on-site technical support to traders and licensed customs agents.
The Service has also reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement, noting that regular training sessions are ongoing across various customs commands to build user capacity and address operational challenges.
The statement was issued by Dr. Abdullahi Maiwada, Assistant Comptroller of Customs and National Public Relations Officer, on behalf of the Comptroller-General of Customs.
