Madam Abla Dzifa Gomashie, the Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, has charged the newly inaugurated National Theatre Board to collaborate with stakeholders in rejuvenating the institution’s operations and cultural programming.
Speaking during the inauguration of the board, in Accra, the Minister said the event was to renew efforts by the Ministry to revitalise one of Ghana’s key cultural assets.
Expressing appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama for selecting a capable and visionary team, the Minister said she was confident that the board would set the National Theatre on a more vibrant and impactful course.

She highlighted the importance of teamwork in realizing the goals of the executive director and transforming the theatre’s offerings.
Madam Korkor Amarteifio, Chairperson of the Board, commended the government for the opportunity granted them to serve the nation, promising their utmost commitment towards achieving their goal.
Members of the Board include Mr Henry Herbert Malm, the Executive Director of the National Theatre, Sylvanus Korshie Kuwor, (Ph.D) Dean of the School of Performing Arts, University of Ghana, and Prof. Samuel Aniegye Ntewusu, Director of the Institute of African Studies, University of Ghana.
The rest are Madam Esther Yayra Attipoe Esq., Nii-Tete Yartey; Rev. Hedwig Naa Tolloo Quist, Mr Jordan Kofi Norshie and Aku Dzifa Florence Glikpoe.
The inauguration ceremony signifies a strategic turning point for the National Theatre, aiming to reinvigorate its status as a premier venue for artistic expression and cultural dialogue.
