The revered Ndan Ya’naa will lead the people of Dagbon in this year’s Damba Festival, scheduled to take place at the historic Gbewaa Palace in Yendi.
The 2025 edition of the annual cultural celebration will be observed under the theme: “Preserving Tradition, Showcasing Culture, Strengthening Unity.”
A rich line-up of traditional activities has been announced:

- Somo Damba – Thursday, 4th September 2025
- Naa Damba – Wednesday, 10th September 2025
- Beli Kulsi – Thursday, 11th September 2025
The Damba Festival, one of the most significant traditional events in Dagbon, brings together chiefs, elders, youth, and visitors to honor heritage, foster unity, and promote cultural pride.
This year’s celebrations are expected to attract dignitaries, tourists, and cultural enthusiasts from across Ghana and beyond, reinforcing the festival’s role as both a unifying tradition and a showcase of Dagbon’s rich history.
