Mrs Fati Kine-Lam, the Bono Regional Director of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), has urged the public to always stay indoors whenever the rains set-in.
She said it was risky to find shelter at fuel and gas pumps and under trees, saying, the rains would always be accompanied by heavy storms in the season.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Sunyani, Mrs Kine-Lam said in the 2023 and 2024 seasons, 976 persons, including children were displaced by the rains in the region.

She said two basic schools in the Jaman North District of the region were worst affected, displacing 190 school children in 2023, adding that in 2024 other two schools and 99 houses were affected by the rains in the Tain District.
Mrs Kine-Lam cautioned the public against poor wiring of their houses and reckless usage of Liquefied Petroleum Gas that could contribute to domestic fire outbreaks.
