The Manhyia Palace has announced a ban on all funerals across Asanteman on Thursday, August 21, 2025, to enable the Asantehene, His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, and the people of Asanteman to observe the One Week Celebration of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.
The Asantehene officially informed the Asanteman Council of the Queen Mother’s passing on Monday, August 11, 2025. Nana Konadu Yiadom III died peacefully on Thursday, August 7, 2025.
The One Week Celebration will take place at Bogyawe, Manhyia Palace, from 12 noon to 6:00 p.m. on the same day.
The notice, signed by Ambassador Nana Effah-Apenteng, Deputy Chief of Staff at the Manhyia Palace, urged the general public to comply with the directive in honour of the late Queen Mother.
