Kwabena Agyepong Files Nomination to Contest NPP Flagbearership, Thanks Supporters

Former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, has officially filed his nomination to contest the party’s flagbearership race ahead of the 2026 presidential elections.

In a statement issued in Accra on Wednesday, August 27, Mr. Agyepong expressed profound gratitude to party faithful and well-wishers who have encouraged and supported his political journey.

“I am deeply humbled and grateful for your encouragement, solidarity, and prayers. This journey is not about one individual, but about all of us who believe in the noble tradition of the NPP and the brighter future of our beloved Ghana,” he noted.

Mr. Agyepong emphasized that his decision to contest goes beyond personal ambition, describing it as a reaffirmation of the NPP’s founding principles.

“This moment is more than a personal aspiration; it is a reaffirmation of our commitment to the values and principles that anchored the foundation of the NPP,” he stated.

He pledged to restore what he termed the cherished values of Service, Sacrifice, and Selflessness in Ghana’s political leadership, while working to rebuild trust and foster a new era of integrity, meritocracy, and hope.

“With your continued support, we will restore the cherished values of Service, Sacrifice, and Selflessness into our politics, rebuild trust in leadership, and usher in a NEW DAWN for Ghana,” he assured.

The former Press Secretary to President John Agyekum Kufuor (2001–2006) and one-time NPP General Secretary further called on members of the party to join him in his agenda to Rebuild, Regenerate, and Rejuvenate the NPP and the nation at large.

Mr. Agyepong concluded his message by invoking God’s blessings upon Ghana and the NPP as he officially enters the flagbearership contest.
